Jump for Ride High Children's Charity!

Experience the thrill of jumping from up to 13,000 by taking part in a charity tandem skydive for Ride High.

The skydive will take place at Hinton Skydiving Centre in Brackley Oxfordshire.

The Ride High team will greet you on the day and after a short briefing from the professionals at Hinton you will be ready to jump, strapped to the front of an experienced Tandem Instructor who is there to operate the parachute and ensure you receive the best experience. 

With the adrenaline of the freefall followed by an exhilarating canopy ride, sky diving is an experience like no other and something you’ll never forget. Of course, the experience will be extra special as you’ll also be helping to raise funds for Ride High to support their ongoing work with vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

Fees and fundraising

A tandem skydive costs £230.
A £50 deposit is required to reserve your dive and the balance is due on the day of the jump – to be paid directly to Hinton Skydiving Centre on arrival.  

Participants are required to raise a minimum of £350. Ride High will provide support and advice to help you meet your fundraising target.

At Hinton Skydiving Centre in Brackley, Oxfordshire.

Hinton Skydiving Centre is the closest full time skydiving centre to London, Birmingham, Northampton, Banbury, Brackley, Milton Keynes and the Midlands. Ideally placed in the centre of the country with fast links from the M1, M5, M6 and M40 Motorways.

Hinton is owned and operated by professional skydivers Geoff Wood and Mike Browne. 

The ‘Drop Zone’ is located at Hinton Airfield which is on the Northamptonshire / Oxfordshire border.

On site facilities include restroom, TV room, dining area and a café serving hot and cold food and drinks.

Participants are asked to arrive at 08:30. Jumps take place on a first-come-first-served basis. Participants should expect to be at Hinton Skydiving Centre for half a day.

Due to the nature of some of the activities they may be subject to cancellation due to weather conditions or other matters beyond the control of Hinton Skydiving Centre. A weather update will be available on the day of the jump and Ride High will notify you if the event has to be cancelled. The decision will only be made on the day of the activity. In the case of cancellation by Hinton Skydiving Centre a new date will be arranged.

On arrival at Hinton Skydiving Centre you will be required to complete a British Skydiving medical form 115A to confirm that you are physically fit and healthy. If there is any doubt about your fitness or where existing medical conditions require the advice of a doctor, then BPA medical form 115B must be used. This form, (115B) must be stamped and signed by a doctor and brought to the centre on the day of your jump. The final decision as to a person’s suitability rests with the Tandem Instructor at Hinton Skydiving Centre.

The minimum age for skydiving is 16 years and there is currently no upper age limit. Persons between 16 and 18 years of age will be required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 21 or over to sign consent forms on the day on arrival at the centre.

The weight limit for a Tandem skydive is 15 stone (95kg) and that weight must be in proportion to your overall height. All persons will be weighed on arrival to ensure they do not exceed the weight limit.

The Skydive costs a total of £230. A £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space and the balance is due on the day of the jump – to be paid directly to Hinton Skydiving Centre on arrival.  

If the skydive has to be cancelled, for example because of poor weather conditions it will be rescheduled.

Insurance is included within the price of the skydive. On arrival at Hinton Skydiving Centre you will complete a form for temporary British Skydiving membership providing you with 3rd party insurance for up to £10,000,000.

No. It is the requirement of the governing body ‘British Skydiving’ that you must have at least 200 jumps and be at least a ‘C’ licence skydiver in order to carry/wear camera equipment onboard the aircraft.

You can however have your skydive filmed by an experienced cameraman who will follow you out of the aeroplane and provide you with a video/stills package at a competitive rate of £120. You will also receive an edited video on the same day of your jump about 15 minutes after landing to take away with you.

It’s probable that you will be issued with a jumpsuit to wear over your clothes however your choice of clothing can be just as important. We advise to dress for the time of year and opt for multiple thin layers of clothing. Avoid anything too tight or restrictive and in terms of footwear trainers are preferred. Ride High will provide you with your own hoodie to keep. This can be worn over the jumpsuit.

Yes, please do! Your spectators and supporters are more than welcome to attend the centre and there are facilities on-site to accommodate them including a café selling hot and cold food and drink, seating facilities and toilets. Please be advised that the skydiving centre is based on an active airfield and therefore spectators must remain within the safe boundaries located near to the centre and not venture airside close to aircraft and their hangars.
