New Community Sensory Garden in Central MK

We have just completed the first stage of our new Community Sensory Garden at our home at the Ride High Equestrian Centre in Loughton, and we’re inviting other charitable groups to come and enjoy and make use of the space.

We have transformed our run-down orchard into a beautiful garden providing a calm and therapeutic space to support positive mental and physical health and wellbeing and the education of their members. Assisted by volunteers from local organisations, Ride High members have been planting and sowing seeds, and over the summer they’ll be engaging in lots of craft projects to make decorative items for the garden.

Although it’s early days for the garden, it will soon be flourishing, and we’re keen for other local charitable organisations and businesses to visit and make use of the space. Age UK Milton Keynes is just one local organisation who will be inviting their beneficiaries to help tend the garden on a regular basis.

Ride High CEO Olivia Sugdon said “We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved so far with the garden. Our own members are already benefiting from the space and we’re now calling on other charities and community groups to use it as a space for their beneficiaries to socialise, make new acquaintances and acquire new skills. It’s such a tranquil and calming environment right in the heart of the city”.

Milton Keynes Community Foundation is one of the organisations that helped to fund the garden. Peter Bakare, Philanthropy Manager said, “The Foundation is delighted to support such a worthy project in our community, and we encourage others to take full advantage of the garden”.

If your charity or organisation would like to visit and use the garden please contact Ride High on 01908 666434.
